Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Rochester follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The inside of Butterjoy is cozy. There isnβt much seating so get there early! A lovely young lady named Annie greeted us warmly. She was very helpful. I really struggled to choose just one item so I settled for Butterscotch Cruffin and a Saffron Brioche Honey Bun. My partner opted for a Cinnamon Swirl and a Drip Coffee with a Butterscotch Shot. My Hybrid Butterscotch Cruffin was flaky, buttery and the butterscotch just oozed out. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Not too sweet. Just right. My Saffron Honey Bunβ¦was something I had never tried before. The bun was so light and airy with a delicate floral note that wasnβt overpowering. The flavours were mind blowing. So much so that I decided to sample both of my orders again!!! This is my 81st cafe I have reviewed and what we sampled at Butterjoy was of exceptional quality and flavour. Couldnβt fault a single thing. This place will need some beating. Definitely in my top 3! My partner loved his Drip Coffee with Butterscotch and he loved his Cinnamon Swirl. They have a rotating monthly flavour (in pastries) so if you like something donβt delay! There is off street parking.

I ordered the mini croissants and scones for my baby shower, it was all fantastic and got so many compliments! Highly recommend.

What started as the special occasion birthday spot in my family became my favorite monthly treat if I have the discipline but more often if not. Every croissant and danish Iβve had has been crispy, every brioche tartelette pillowy, every pastry flavorful and elegantly crafted. The Guinness Dark Chocolate Brownie Croissant was hands down the best thing Iβve had there. Most things are big enough to share but you wonβt want to. If you donβt like waking up early Butterjoy may not be for you because they can sell out quick but I recommend you do because itβll be worth it. Itβs a hole in the wall worth going back to!

I was recommended this place from a coworker and the YouTube channel "Eat Local NY". I have always loved croissants and these ones are AMAZING. So many layers of flaky dough with lots of flavor. This place does sell out on occasions (from what I've been told) so I would get here early. There's not a parking lot, but there is some street parking. I would definitely come back here.

First the place looks βclosedβ and run down from the outside. No open sign. Next the women at counter had an attitude like she didnβt want to be there. The croissants had so much air. They were just crust very little inside texture. The price for juice coffee and four pastries came to $41.30! Between the price of the pastries, coffee and juice and the storefront location without an open sign this place wonβt stay open very long and is overrated. The butterscotch pastry had so much filling it was overpowering and way too sweet. The cinnamon roll, chocolate scone was also bland. Everything was bland. Not going back.
